Hindrances To Understanding The Bible | Three Hindrances

Hindrances To Understanding The Bible - A common fallacy that is believed among those who know little or nothing about the Bible is that the Bible is difficult to understand. One of the principal reasons why this is believed is because most people do not study the Bible. Add to this the fact of the great religious division that provides today throughout Christendom.
Because of the religious division that provides throughout the world, many have assumed that it must be difficult to understand the Bible is order to be united upon the foundation of the Bible.

The Bible is more difficult to understand. However, it was not written like a Sunday morning newspaper which is to be casually head. One must make his or her study of the Bible a life time project, when one falls in love with THE Bible, study becomes a pleasurable experience to which one seeks for daily guidance. When we understand that the Bible is God speaking to us then it is not difficult to maintain a life-style of Bible study. As with all literacy books, the more the Bible a studied the easier it is to understand. Almost without expectation those who complains about not being able to understand the Bible are those who never study it in detail.

The Holy Spirit inspired the bible to be written in the way would challenge us to study because of this that is no room for pride in our knowledge of the scriptures’ however, we must remember that fundamental trust that are necessary for salvation all easy to understand. God did not make  that which is necessary for salvation difficult as discover. one simply the bible and need.

The following are some very impotent thing to be learned concerning our personal understanding the bible. The purpose in presenting the points is to clarify some misunderstandings concerning how the our general understanding the bible. we live in a world that basically ignorant of the bible. because of this there are many mid conceptions floating around concerning how the bible is to be understood. in this chapter therefore, we must seriously reconsider some of the misinformation that is circulated concerning our understanding the bible by sorting out misinformation, we must begin to understand why people to do not interpret the bible in a manner that have unity among believers. some reason why the bible is often not understood and why people often do not understand it alive. The point of this study is to help us guard ourselves against stumbling over any of these problems in our personals relationships with god’s ward.

1. PEOPLE SIMPLY DO NOT STUDY THE BIBLE.
This is probably the greatest reason why people do not understand the Bible. After all, how can one understand that which he or she does not know? It is a fact that the Bible the better he or she will understand it. This is why peter wrote,’ Grow in the grace and knowledge of our lord and savior Jesus Christ (2pt 3:8)
The Bereans could understand the Bible because they searched the scripture the scripting. Luke wrote to them, “These were more fair minded them those in thessaonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the scriptures daily to times out whether these things were so” (Act 17:11).

NOTE: OPEN-MINDED PEOPLE WILL STUDY THE BIBLE
The first and most basic reason why people do not understand the scriptures is simply because they do not study. If people would be like the Bereans who daily studied the scriptures then there would be less contusion in the religious world concerning what the Bible says.

2. PEOPLE STUDY WITH AN UNPERCEPTIVE MIND
having a dosed mind means that one is not re acceptance to new ideas or better ideas. Having an open mind means that one will always be seeking for truth. Human religious traditions will not stop an open minded person form searching the scripture for smith. Open minded people always  want to learn. They seek answers for questions. This are willing to let others and the bible feed them new information. But if one studies the Bible with and coneceptive mind he cannot understand the message of the Bible. If he or she is not willing to take the risk of is convening truth that man contradict his or her present life or beliefs, he or she will not objectively study the Bible.

Jehoiakim, the king of Judah, is a good example of the above principle. Jeremiah had written condemning words about the king’s wicked life and reign. However when these words were read before the king, Jehoiakim cut in pieces the scroll on which the word Jeremiah were written. He then  bumed the pieces (see Jere 36:20-26) His mind was closed and hardened against God’s word.

On the other hand, open minded people humbly seek to learn truth that will better their lives. They seek truth that will give them a better understanding of the nature and resistance of God. Such an attitude was portrayed by the Ethiopian Eunuch when asked by Philip of he understood what her read. The eunuch replied “How can I, rules someone guides me? “(Act 8:31). Such an attitude should be portrayed by all Bible students.

3. PEOPLE STUDY IN ORDER TO DEFEND THEIR RELIGIOUS TRADITIONS
This is one of the major reasons why people do not understand the Bible. They need the Bible, but divest its meaning to file their own religious traditions. Suppose you learned from your study of the Bible that something you have been religiously practicing or believing for many years in actually wrong. Would you be willing to change your religious practice or, would you seek to interpret the Bible is a way that would make the Bible agree with the what you have traditionally believed for many years?

This point is very importance conferring our comet understanding of the Bible Every Bible student must be willing to submit his or her traditional interpretations and religious traditions to the will of God head time the Bible is opened. God’s word must be respected over any traditional thought or practice (2pet 3:15,16) and (mark 7:9) and important scriptures to study concerning the point of traditional thought (see also nnt 15:1-). These passages nominal us of the tremendous influence the religious traditions have upon all religious people. In the (2pet 3:15:16) passage peter  loaned concerning those who sought to maintain their own religious  beliefs by twisting the inspired scriptures of Paul.

Peter wrote, “and consider that the long suffering of our lord is salvation as also our beloved brother paul, according do the wisdom given him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles specking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction as they do also the rest of the scripture after the same manner, the Jews sought do keep their own traditions instead of searching for and applying the ward of God. Jesus said of them “All too well you reject the commandment of God that you may keep your tradition” (Mk 7:9)

Bible students must never underestimate the strength of both traditional behavior and traditional interpretation of the Bible Christians usually assume that all they do and believe a straight from the Bible this is not adages the case. And because this is not always the case it is important to always to the Bible in order to continue restoration of our minds and lives.

There are many people who are not willing to make a personal commitment during their Bible studies to submit traditional interpretations or behavior to objective Bible revelation. As a result, they do not want to understand the Bible. They read in to their Bibles subtle traditional beliefs that lead them not to be objective. The nonobjective student interprets the Bible form the viewpoint of  his or her traditional belief. This is the reason why the Jews could not understand and that Jesus was the fulfillment of old Testament prophecies concerning the messiah. Jesus said to them, “You search the scriptures for them, you thinks you have eternal life, and these are they which destiny of me. But you are not willing to come to me that you may have (life “(John 5.39,40).

The Jewish religious leaders could not see Jesus as the fulfillment of prophecy because they had rejected the commandments of God in order to keep their own traditions (MK7111-9). For this reason, man to day cannot understand the Bible simply because they are more jealous to keep their traditions then to discover what God has revealed concerning what men should believe and do.
